Make sure the recorder's batteries work.
Turn OFF the recorder.
Plug the USB cord into the recorder, then into the USB port on the computer.
The recorder will start automatically and show two options on the screen. You need the USB computer mode. To scroll to it, use the scroller option along the right side of the recorder, toward the top. Push it down to move the screen arrow to USB mode. Then push that scroller button in to select that mode.
When you do this, the recorder will show up on your computer (PC or Mac) as an external drive, just like a flash.
Look in the folders to find your file and drag it over to your computer to copy it.
Eject the recorder from the computer before unplugging the USB. Make sure the recorder is then turned off.
