Page numbers in indesign

Page history last edited by Katie Yohn 14 years, 2 months ago

I cannot figure out how to make a page number show up on my actual document on indesign (it shows up in the pages label on the right-hand side but not on the document for print).  I looked at "numbering and section options" and I also looked in the footer area.  The adobe help didn't have any answers.  I'm sure I am missing something easy but I just can't figure it out.  Please help, thank you!

You just make a text box and put a page number (any page number) in it. It's not like Microsoft Word, where you're actually numbering pages.

You can also create a text box and then hit Type > Insert Special Character > Markers > Current Page Number.
If you do this on master pages, it will auto number your pages. But we don't work with master pages at this intro level, so that's likely not worth your time.
