I have a similar problem. I upload my site to the server and it opens in dreamweaver, with no styles... I can't figure out how to make it open in a web browser with my styles attached.

thanks katie! it's working fine now. i just created a new index.html and re-did the formatting, not sure what happened with the old one. oh well, thanks!

After I posted that comment I was able to retrieve some of the styles, so I think I'll just work from there. But when I try to open my index.html page from the server, it only opens in Dreamweaver, not in a web browser. Am I just doing something wrong? Will I get points off for this?

I have more than one stylesheet... should I get rid of one because Dreamweaver says it cannot find the stylesheets I am missing on the server.. I just try to work off what I've got though, if this is too complicated for me to fix.

When you double-click it and it opens in Dreamweaver, that just means your computer is set to open files with .html in DW, not in a browser. As long as you can see it via the URL above, you're golden.

Hi! I just tried to upload my page to the server, but it looks like all of my css and formatting is not refreshed? Every time I try to refresh it and preview in Dreamweaver, it loads differently in Safari. Now, when I look from the server, it uploads with some of the formatting I had when I made my Fitness First site from forever ago.. yikes! Help?!

that's better. but my right rail and left nave don't seem to match up with my footer and my footer isn't there on any of my pages, but it is when i look at it in Dreamweaver, any idea? thanks so much!

The right rail and left nav don't match because you have them artificially extended using line breaks/paragraph tags rather than coded to be the same length as the middle. The footer is not showing because you have the H3 tag font set .8 pixels, which is amazingly and microscopically tiny. Removing that tag, or changing the size associated with it, will fix the issue

thank you so much! that helped a lot. i'm still having trouble getting my pages to be different heights though. because some of my pages has more content than others, i can't set the right rail/ left nav to a certain height because it differs on every page. how do i format it automatically match the content in the center box on each html page?

This is the problem the webmasters dealt with in lab Wednesday. See Dreamweaver training #6 for an explanation on how to do this. Basically, what you have to do is create a repeating image in your middle div. You'll need to align the image to the y-axis.
